EASTERN UGANDA CULTURAL TOUR

11 Days Tour

EASTERN UGANDA TOUR

Day One

Pick up the visitors from the Airport drive to Jinja town which is East of Kampala. Make a stopover at Mabira Forest, do the forest walk before proceeding to Jinja. In Jinja, visit the source of the Nile, and the markets.

Day Two

Early wake up head to Sipi Falls. In the afternoon hike to the top of the falls.

Day Three

Late wake up, visit the coffee farming communities and the nearby communities around Sipi Falls.

Day Four

Early wake up, drive to Moroto through the savannah land scape. Roads are very rough and communities are a little hostile too but safe. This might take a full day, reach Moroto late and stay at the KaraTunga camp site.

Day Five and Six

KaraTunga activities.


Mt Moroto Hike
An ancient volcano raises out of the semi-arid planes of Karamoja forming the highest mountain in the region with numerous peaks offering days of adventure. On this 2 day camp and hiking tour we reach one of the summits varying between 2600m and 3000m. The objected summit will be discussed before departure with the tour leader.


Life in the village
Immerse yourself in Karamojong culture. The afternoon is spent participating traditional games, daily activities as preparing staple foods, harvesting, beading, learning, dance, how to shoot bow and arrow and traditional friendly wrestling.

Night in the kraal
Experience typical Karamojong pastoral life by sleeping a night with the animals and shepherds in the Kraal. Help bringing the cows to the kraal, share stories around the campfire, play games
with the warriors and learn how all about nomadic life.

Day Seven

Drive to Kidepo N.P.. Do the evening game drive. Here you can spot the rock lions. This park is known as the best photographic park in Africa due to its savannah setting.

Day Eight

Early wake up for the morning game drive and after lunch return to the park for the walking safari or hot spring visit.
​

Day Nine

Late wake up, visit the Ike community that lives in the mountain ranges within the Park. Do the late evening game drive to spot animals at the end of the day.

Day Ten


​Early wake drive to Gulu and visit the Acholi villages. Here we visit the Acholi Kingdom and its homes. See the cultural dances and the effect of the Kony war on to the community.

Day Eleven


​Drive to Kampala and do the stay tour. In the evening head to Entebbe.
